Testing Your Routes
Place test calls from your portal to verify your routing is working.
The Route Test Tool
The Route Test page in your portal lets you place a test call to any destination number, using your account's real routing — the same rate deck, concurrent-call limits, and caller-ID rules your live traffic uses. It's the fastest way to confirm a destination is reachable before pointing production traffic at it.
How to Use It
- Open Route Test in the sidebar (under Voice).
- Enter the destination number in full international format (no + sign).
- Optionally enter a Caller ID — send a real number here to verify your account's CLI translation rules, since those only fire on a matching "from" prefix. Leave it blank to use a placeholder.
- Click Run Test. Within a few seconds you'll see whether the call connected, and how long it took.
Limits and Billing
- Up to 5 test calls per hour.
- Test calls are real calls — a connected test is billed to your balance at your normal rate, like any other call. Tests are cut off automatically moments after answer, so the cost is minimal.
💡 Tip: If a test fails repeatedly to a destination you know is valid, contact support with the destination number and the time of your test.
