Voice Broadcast

Call a list of numbers automatically with a recorded or generated voice message — reminders, announcements, or an interactive "press 1 for..." menu. Find it at app.6xcom.com/wholesale/voice-broadcast in the Wholesale Portal — this feature is available to wholesale accounts; a regular business account can request a one-off broadcast by emailing support@6xcom.com.

Creating a broadcast

  1. Click Create Voice Broadcast and give it a name.
  2. Choose a type: Transactional (reminders, alerts — lowest legal risk), Informational (announcements), or DTMF Interactive (lets the caller press 1/2/3 for different actions, e.g. "Press 1 to confirm, Press 2 to reschedule").
  3. Provide the voice message — see below.
  4. Add recipients — see below.
  5. Confirm the compliance checkbox (you're confirming recipients have actually consented to receive calls from you) and save.

The voice message: upload or generate from text

Two ways to provide the message — pick whichever's easier:

  • Upload Audio — drag and drop an MP3, WAV, or OGG file (or click to browse), max 10MB. Keep it under 30 seconds.
  • Generate from Text — type your message and it's spoken for you using the same text-to-speech engine as your Call Menu greetings. Available voices: English (US), English (UK), and Français. (Other languages, including Nigerian Pidgin, aren't available for text-to-speech yet — use the upload option for those.)

Whichever you choose, the result is treated identically once saved — you can switch between them anytime by re-editing the broadcast before it's launched.

Adding recipients

Three ways to build your recipient list:

  • Enter manually — one phone number per line.
  • Upload CSV — drag and drop a CSV/TXT file (or click to browse); the first column is read as the phone number.
  • From My Contacts — pick from contacts you've already imported. See My Contacts if you haven't imported any yet.

Launching and billing

Once created, review the broadcast and click Launch Now. Calls go out at roughly one per second — for a large list, expect the full run to take a while. Only answered calls are billed, at your normal retail per-destination call rate (the same rate you'd pay dialing that number manually) — there's no separate "broadcast" pricing tier.

Results (answered/busy/no-answer/failed, plus real-time cost) update on the broadcast's page as calls complete — refresh to see the latest count. This can lag the dispatch by anywhere from a few seconds to a minute, since a call's outcome is only known once it actually connects or times out.

Editing and cancelling

A broadcast can be edited or cancelled any time before you launch it — once launched, it can't be stopped partway through, so review your message and recipient list carefully first.
