6X News Verifier — How It Works

How to use the free News Verifier at 6xcom.com/verify, what each result actually means, and its real, honest limitations.

What it does

6X News Verifier (6xcom.com/verify) checks a link, a claim, an image, a voice note, or a video against 6X's own trusted news sources - and if nothing there matches, it falls back to a real live web search checked against a curated list of reputable outlets.

What you can paste or upload

  • A link - we check if the domain itself is one of our trusted sources, and fetch the page to check its content against our feed.
  • Text - paste the claim or headline directly.
  • An image - we read any visible text (like a screenshotted headline or tweet) and check that. We do not detect doctored or AI-generated photos - only the text found in them.
  • A voice note or video - we transcribe the speech and check what was said.

What each result means

✅ From a trusted source - the link is directly from one of 6X's own trusted news feeds.

✅ Corroborated - your claim matches real coverage, either from our own feed or a live web search against a reputable outlet. The report shows exactly which source matched, with a real link.

⚠️ Unverified - no matching coverage was found anywhere we checked. This does not mean the claim is false - it just means we couldn't confirm it. Treat it with the same caution you'd give any unconfirmed claim.

🚩 Likely misinformation - the text itself uses phrasing commonly associated with fabricated or clickbait content (things like "share before they delete this"), and nothing confirms it.

Share a link straight from your phone

If you've installed 6X on your phone, you can use your phone's normal Share button on any link or post - from WhatsApp, Twitter, your browser, anywhere - and pick 6X from the share menu. It opens straight into the Verifier with that link already being checked, no copy-pasting needed.

Be honest about the limits

This is a real, useful corroboration tool - not a truth oracle. No tool, including this one, can prove something is false just because it hasn't been covered yet. Our own feed covers a curated set of outlets, not the entire internet, and even the live web search fallback only counts a match from a genuinely reputable source. When in doubt, use it as one honest signal among several, not a final verdict.
